Hello guys!
I can't believe how terribly, horribly long it's been since I last post. Life has just gotten a bit more hectic lately, and I was also feeling a terrible lack of inspiration on post ideas. I'm still trying to think of some clever new things to do.
I just let one week pass and then another and didn't post well now it's been nearly 2 months. I was also feeling a terrible lack of inspiration on post ideas. I'm still trying to think of some clever new things to do. (Perhaps some more outfit post...much greater chance of doing these if I lose the weight I've been trying to lose ;) ) And I apologize for not keeping up with my blog reading and commenting either, I tried to to whenever I could.
But I'm back :)
As I said, not sure what new things I want to do with my blog. However, for this post I wanted to do something on vintage makeup looks , as I've just been in the mood to play around with my look lately and buy new makeup, new colors, etc.
I suppose this going to be more a question for you all than any real tips, etc. (I am not always all that great at doing my own makeup anyway. I'm especially terrible with eyeliner.)
So, I've watched several videos and read advice on doing a 40s/50s ish look. I really love the way the eyes are done (and I can do eyeshadow and mascara fine), but as I said I'm terrible with eyeliner. I've tried pencil, gel w/ a brush, and liquid.
*What do type of eyeliner do you guys prefer, especially when you were a novice at the perfectly lined eye? Any favorite brands?

welcome back x
ReplyDeleteMy favorite eyeliner is L'Oreal Paris carbon black Lineur Intense..here's a link:http://www.totalbeauty.com/reviews/product/6094891/loreal-paris-lineur-intense-felt-tip
ReplyDeleteIt has a felt tip applicator so it's REALLY easy to put on. Goes on smooth and darl and you can get a super thin line or a dramatic thick one. I've been doing liquid liner for years and so far, its the best and easiest that I've found. Got mine at Walmart!

ReplyDeleteDaisychain ~ :) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteBrittany - Thanks you so much for the recommendation on a good eyeliner. I'll dfinitely have try out, especially since it sounds nice and easy to use ;)
Maggi - Haha, glad I'm not the only one who have very little makeup skills ;) Weight loss is so hard isn't it. Ah, those pounds are so easy to put on, but so hard to get off!
Hey Lizzy! Good to see I´m not the only one whos been gone for awhile... welcome back! :) The best eyeliner I´ve used so far is Bobbi Brown Liquid Gel because it doesn´t smudge, still you have to practice before hand because it ... doesnt smudge :)
ReplyDeleteAs for weight loss. I was so inpired to see "Biggest Loser" on TV here in Sweden and the awesome Jillian Michaels that I went and bought her book - Winning by Losing.
When I was in Ghana I got up early in the morning, took my book w. me and did what ever she told me do and it worked !
Today was my first day in the gym after 3-4 weeks. After years of trying all kinds of things I realize that when it comes to excecise one really has to find what works for you - good luck! :)
you know- Audrey Hepburn is basically my idol in every aspect of life! haha. :) and her eye liner is, of course, my favourite. you said you were bad at doing eye liner, but here is a youtube video on how to get an Audrey look:

hope these help. your blog is GREAT :)
My favorite liner is Hard Candy liquid liner is Asphalt.
ReplyDeleteHi Lizzy dear, I'm personally a fan of the marker style of liquid liner (the Canadian brand "Joe Fresh" makes the best [non-department store] brand I've tried to date and it's easy on the pocketbook, too, to boot!), but also enjoy using pots of gel liner (applied with a very fine brush (though I feel like I'm still on the hunt for "just the right" one of those).
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your comments over the past little while, it's always such a cheerful delight when you stop by for a visit, honey!
Tons of hugs & wishes of creative blogging inspiration!
♥ Jessica
