Happy New Year's Eve everyone!!!

I apologize for how erratic my posting has been. Thank you so much to all you who have still be reading my blog and commenting. I apologize if I haven't visited and commented on any of your blogs as much I would like to, I vow to be better ;)

Also, I so happy to have reached over 100 followers which is pretty exciting, thank you everyone!!!!

I hope that all you have a very wonderful holiday season so far and that this coming year brings many many good things for you. I haven't decided what my New Year's resolutions will be yet, how about you guys?

I'm not doing anything fun this New Year's Eve, but I wanted to include some fun vintage New Year's Eve images and that dresses I would wear if I was going to some ritzy party :)

Sugar Coma

I hope that all of you are having a wonderful holiday season so far, whether you celebrate Christmas or not :)

Some years I haven't been able to get much into Christmas for whatever reason, but I sure am this years. Today is day two of my cookie baking craze. It's just me and my red Kitchenaid taking on as many recipes possible. Baking massive amounts of cookies for my family and to give out as gifts is one of my very favorite holiday activities :)


I had a couple cookies yesterday turn out yummy but not all that cute so hopefully they all turn out cutely today ;)
If I have any really good ones I'll try to post some pics.

ScoLar Clothing

First of all I must apologize for being such a terrible blogger lately. It's been far longer than I meant it to be since I last posted! Time just slips away too fast sometimes.

A big thanks to all of you who wished me a happy birthday, it really meant a lot to me, thank you :)

So, this post though maybe not vintage ( I know, I'm cheating a bit, but I suppose my blog is devoted to fashion in general too ;) so maybe not really cheating).

I wanted to share a line of clothing with you guys that I recently fell in love with that I discovered thanks to the wonderful Modcloth.com!!!! (that website has the potential to get me in so much trouble, spending wise, hehe)

But anyways, it's a Japanese brand called ScoLar and I just love it! They have the cutest things. I really hope Modcloth gets more items from this brand on their site soon :)

Another Year Older...Maybe Not Wiser Though

Hello! I'm dreadfully sorry that it has been so long since I've posted. Things have been a bit hectic lately, but hopefully I'll be back on schedule soon. Today I am being lazy, I will admit, and not doing much of real post because...it's my birthday!

Itching to Ice Skate

As the Christmas season and winter start to creep around one of the first things that I start longing to do is go ice skating. Sadly I haven't gone several winters in a row but this year I'm bound and determined to go as often as possible.

I love everything about ice skating, including the fashion. Snuggly scarves and sweaters, and twirly skirts. I thought it would be fun to share some vintage ice skating images.

20s Love

I just watched Thoroughly Modern Millie the other day, which is a really fun movie and it inspired me to do a post on some 20s fashion. I'm mainly a 30s-50s girl but I do enjoy 20s style even though it can't work with my body type for the most part ;)

Happy almost Halloween everyone! I know not everyone celebrates Halloween, so this post may not be as fun for some, but I hope everyone is having a wonderful fall so far and enjoys these cute images.

Since it's almost Halloween I thought it would be fun to do a list of 5 Things I'm Afraid of. Feel free to post on of your fears in the comments, or do this yourself :)

Some of mine might sound funny, but they're true! ;)

Top 5 Things I'm Afraid of:

1. Driving (I absolutely hate it, unlike most people when I turned 16 I was not excited to get my license, but it's pretty hard to get around without driving so I have to.)
2. Clowns
3. Bears (I'm serious! I blame it on a show I saw about bear attacks)
4. Speaking in public to a large group.
5. Getting kidnapped!

Halloween Costume Ideas

As far as I know I'm not going to any Halloween parties or anything that will require me to be dressing up in anything, so I have no costume, nor am I planning to get one but here's some of the things I would love to dress up as.

I'm a huge Julie Andrews fan, and I've always loved her dress from the version of the musical Cinderella she was in. If I had some mad sewing skills I would definitely recreate this dress for myself. It looks like such a fun dress to wear. I'm a huge klutz though, hehe, so I would probably take people out with the skirt ;)

I also think it would be super fun to be Eliza Doolittle from My Fair Lady, while I adore the gown she wears to the ball that would be hard to recreate and I think it would be really fun to dress like she looked as a flower girl.

Swirl Found, Swirl Lost

So, I'm sure you are all quite sick of me talking about how much I want a Swirl dress, if you are a regular reader but here I go again, so bear with me ;)

I was looking through the blogs I usually read when I saw on The Mysterious Life of the Metropolitan Housewife that she had found a Swirl dress and was going to sell it in her lovely Etsy shop.

Unfortunately, I'm a big dope, so I told myself that I would wait to buy it until the next morning because I've been trying very hard not to spend too much money lately. However, someone else had snapped it up before me :(

*Sigh*

Maybe it just wasn't meant to be. Perhaps there is just some other Swirl out there waiting for me that needs me more. hehehe

Vintage Knitting

First of all, I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted, yikes! It's amazing how time gets away from me. Oh, dear!

Anyway, with the cooler weather around now I've been getting into a crafty mood, so I'm starting to plan out some fall/winter projects. I've been meaning to get around to teaching myself how to sew better (better than being able to only being able to hem and sew on buttons ;) ), I even have a couple patterns, but as of this moment no progress has been made...oops.

But knitting I already know how to do so I've been tempted to take on some bigger and more challenging projects lately than I have.

Anyone else started any fun projects, knitting or otherwise?

Last time I was browsing through Amazon.com I spotted this fabulous book and it tempted me to get into some more vintage style knitting.
