Victorian/Edwardian Treasures

So, I tend to be a 40's-60's gal, as I've said, but another era of style that I'm absolutely in love with is Victorian fashion. Most pieces from that early are not even wearable, but still so beautiful to look at and be inspired by. Anne of Green Gables is one of my very favorite series of books and the mini series version they did of it is just fabulous, as are the clothes!
Watching the movies always made me enamored with the fashion and deeply resentful that I didn't have red hair like Anne. I always thought she was so silly for hating it! But I suppose you never appreciate what you have.

Isn't this dress gorgeous? I saw it on Etsy a couple months ago and wanted it so much, but being such a rare piece it was well out of my price range! It's from around 1910 and was still in good enough condition to be worn! Equisite isn't it?

Here's another amazing Victorian dress that's out there! This one is from 1890 believe it or not! I love the pink and black together, I would love to own it and just hang it up in my room to look at.

And now, just thought it would be fun to share just a couple of my favorite examples of fashion that I loved from Anne of Green Gables.

I just love her blouse and hat in this photo! Gilbert's looking pretty spiffy though too ;)
