Lucy was such a strong woman, and so talented and funny. She had such an interesting life, I encourage you to read a biography on her, or see the public television documentary done on her and Desi Arnez. So sad that they couldn't work things out. But anyway, I hope that you have a good laugh today and watch an I Love Lucy episode, always a classic!
If you know anything about Lucy, than you'll already know that she started out as a blonde, not with her classic red hair. She looks so different, doesn't she? I often don't think of her as being one of the Hollywood beauties from that age, but she really was.

{The Famous Chocolate Factory Episode}Happy Birthday, Lucy! Thank you for all of the years of laughter you brought us!

I really need to watch a whole lot more of I Love Lucy- it's so great! Happy Birthday Lucy! xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful look back at Lucy's life and career. I was torn come August 6th between writing a post about her birthday and DH's, but in the end Tony won out. Perhaps next year I'll cover Lucy :)
ReplyDeleteTons of hugs & blissful weekend wishes,
Jessica
it is so strange to me how often people think she was a natural redhead and she wasn't at all. She dyed her hair all those years. I love her though. she was so hilarious.
ReplyDeleteWow, she looks so unbelievably different in that first photo! I had no idea she was such a knock out of a blonde bombshell. Great tribute!
