Anyway, with the cooler weather around now I've been getting into a crafty mood, so I'm starting to plan out some fall/winter projects. I've been meaning to get around to teaching myself how to sew better (better than being able to only being able to hem and sew on buttons ;) ), I even have a couple patterns, but as of this moment no progress has been made...oops.
But knitting I already know how to do so I've been tempted to take on some bigger and more challenging projects lately than I have.
Anyone else started any fun projects, knitting or otherwise?
Last time I was browsing through Amazon.com I spotted this fabulous book and it tempted me to get into some more vintage style knitting.
I also spotted some fabulous patterns on Etsy (and searching through Google) that both tempted and inspired me as well :)
This link includes the acutal pattern for free, as do the two below :)
And I couldn't resist including this pattern I found! How precious is the little lion and tiger, I want to make one!!! ;)

And thanks so much to all of you for your vintage shopping/price advice!!! I really appreciated it. I learned so much by reading through the comments I recieved.

O good luck with the knitting, it's one thing i've never been able to tackle or get right! As for my own projects i've embroidering a Christmas table cloth and learning to crochet via making a hot water bottle cover while trying to not get into too much of a tangle with the wool!
ReplyDeleteI adore vintage patterns. I have the retro book and it's fabulous! Good luck with your projects :)
ReplyDeletewow! these patterns look ambitious for a newbie! i would personally just like to be able to knit one of those cool cowls that sell for between $40 and $80 on etsy.
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a crocheter but I love looking for neato vintage knitting and crochet patterns! Have you ever seen this site? http://www.vintagepurls.net.nz/patterns.html
ReplyDeleteWow, I love those patterns and I cant wait to see what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteI don't have the skill or patience for knitting, so I am jealous of anyone who can!
lovely blog !
ReplyDeleteohhh how fun! I wish I knew how to knit! I always come across vintage pattern books, but I can't really do anything with them!
ReplyDeleteAs much as it pains me to admit, I'm afraid I haven't the slightest clue how to knit. I would love to learn one day though, and would definitely gravitate towards beautiful vintage patterns like these ones if I ever did.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to you with your knitting (& sewing) projects, honey - I bet anything you make will be wonderful.
Have a sublime weekend, sweet dear,
♥ Jessica
