I'm a huge Julie Andrews fan, and I've always loved her dress from the version of the musical Cinderella she was in. If I had some mad sewing skills I would definitely recreate this dress for myself. It looks like such a fun dress to wear. I'm a huge klutz though, hehe, so I would probably take people out with the skirt ;)
I also think it would be super fun to be Eliza Doolittle from My Fair Lady, while I adore the gown she wears to the ball that would be hard to recreate and I think it would be really fun to dress like she looked as a flower girl.
Julie Andrews as Eliza
Audrey as Eliza
And lastly I'm a huge Jane Austen/Regency era fan, I love the fashion from that era. Too bad I could only get away with wearing it as a costume without someone thinking I was completely looney ;)
Anne from Persuasion
Elizabeth from P&P (I love this dress, though personally I must admit I prefer the BBC 1995 version of P&P)
Are any of you dressing up for Halloween? If so, as what?

I'm not going to dress me up because in Italy, Halloween isn't a real tradition. But I would have a lot of ideas!
ReplyDeleteI love all of them!
ReplyDeleteI like the photos. Anyway, I just discovered your blog now. And now following you. You have a very nice blog!
ReplyDeleteOh have to agree, bbc 1995 far superior.
ReplyDeleteWe don't really do Halloween over here, I find it so interesting that US and now I see the UK are really into it.
Might have to do a scary post in honor of my overseas friends.

Fab ideas,
ReplyDeleteI'm not dressing up as such, but I love seeing other people's costumes!
No dressing up for me either this year! I love your picks and yes, the BBC Colin firth version beats the pants off the stupid Knightly version any day! lol I also prefer the 95 version of Persuasion with Amanda Root.
ReplyDeleteFantastic ideas! I haven't wore a "character specific" costume since I was about 15, but I do pull something together from my closet each year in Halloweeny hues. I was really thinking yesterday that next year I want to sport a "real" costume next Halloween though. Time to start saving up for it! :D
ReplyDeleteWishing you a gorgeous Sunday, sweetie!
