Resisting Temptation

So, when I checked my mail this afternoon not only had my lovely vintage dress (my first one!) finally arrived, but I also got a catalogue from Anthropologie (the store where I would buy all my clothing if I happened to win the lottery). Some of their new items have such a lovely vintage flair, so I thought I would share a few of the items that caught my eye, for inspiration and simply for you to drool over a well!

Isn't this coat just gorgeous! It has such a 40s feel to it I think. If it wasn't quite so pricey I would snap it up in a heartbeat!

(Anthropologie)

Aren't there shoes too cute? I have a real weakness for t-strap heels, I just can't resist them, and this purple color is too fun.

And I haven't gotten a chance to take any nice pictures of it myself, but I can't wait any longer to show you my very first vintage dress! It's in amazing condition, and smells wonderful (no creepy musty smell), so I'm pretty excited. It's a 50's swing dress, and I think it's so cute.
Here's the picture of it from the Etsy listing. What do you think? I got it from Vintage Rose Clothing, which I highly recommend. She has absolutely lovely stuff listed. I would buy it all if I could.

Have a lovely weekend!!!

  3. Hi, Thank you so much for staying over at the Attic and commenting, it's much appreciated.

I just adore the coat and shoes, I don't think we can get Athropolgie in Australia. They have such great pieces :(

    Lovely weekend to you too,

  4. Your dress is beautiful. I know about Anthropologie. The funny thing about it is that I used to shop at the stores in Florida and the prices were actually lower...not cheap...but lower:)

  7. Yes, Anthro is amazing. Those shoes are to die. I have not received my catalogue yet- I bet my husband hid it so I would not spend hours pouring over each page, squeeling with glee!

    Thanks doll,

Dustjacket Attic - Well that is a terrible shame that you can't get Anthropologie in Australia! Think of it as a blessing for your wallet though ;)
Kelley Anne - Thank you so much, glad you like my lovely new dress ;) That's funny that Anthropologie was less pricey in FL, I wonder why?

  13. TheGlamorousHousewife - Haha, I think it might be highly possible that your husband would be tempted to hide the catalogue from you. This one has lots to squeel over for sure!

  14. Many happy congrats on your gorgeous pink dress!

I adore that coat, vintage looking modern day coats are rather hard to find, but that one would be simply perfect for at least three seasons of the year (maybe even year-round if you lived in a warmer climate).

    Wishing you a splendid Sunday!

  15. Thanks Jessica :)
I'm still very excited about my lovely "new" dress.
And isn't that coat great? It is quite hard to find new coats with a vintage flair, if I could afford it I would definitely grab this one, I would get a lot of use out of it for sure!
